MANCHESTER United stars Eric Cantona and Andrei Kanchelskis have been invited to make guest appearances for Hong Kong First Division club Happy Valley in their exhibition match against English Premier League side Crystal Palace in April.
Happy Valley chairman Nick Lee is confident the United pair will start in the exhibition scheduled for April 23 at the Hong Kong Stadium.
'We have already begun negotiations and things are looking bright for the pair to come to the territory. United have verbally agreed to release the pair but we have made contingency plans should they fail to appear because they do have problems,' said Lee.
'The biggest problem for United is, of course, the English FA Cup and if they are still in contention, it is unlikely they will come.' Should Cantona and Kanchelskis fail to come, Lee said he was confident Glasgow Rangers' winger Alexei Mikhailichenko would play instead.
'Hong Kong promoter Sammy Yu has good connections with Glasgow Rangers so we're not worried about getting guest players for our match,' said the Happy Valley boss.
Crystal Palace, struggling in the English Premier League, are confirmed for the April 23 clash.
