TOWNGAS has signed two contracts worth $266 million to build a main gas pipeline connection from the south western New Territories to the north shore of Lantau Island.

  The total investment of the Lantau Link project will be more than $500 million.

  The gas supply for the new airport at Chek Lap Kok, and other Lantau developments in Tung Chung and Tai Ho is scheduled to be commissioned by December 1996.
