JAPAN Airlines is offering an Hawaii getaway package with the option of a stopover in Tokyo on the return journey.

Prices start from HK$5,980 and include round-trip air fare to Honolulu and three nights in a luxury hotel.

For a little extra, travellers can prolong their stay, visit other Hawaiian islands and even stop off on the West Coast of the US.

THE Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya, last week celebrated its soft opening. The hotel now has 200 rooms available, and by July will have 389. A special opening offer of 40 per cent discount will run until the end off August. FOR women travellers with security in mind, the Millennium Hotel, in Manhattan's financial district, offers no 'hidden' corridors, an escort to rooms (upon request) and continuous elevator monitoring. STAR Cruise's latest addition, the MegaStar Aries, is now plying regularly between Singapore and the historic port of Malacca in Peninsula Malaysia. The vessel has a capacity of 100 passengers. IT could only happen in the US. Couples who book a 'Fantasy Flight' above Los Angeles get a certificate of membership of the 'Mile High Club.' Before boarding the custom twin-engine plane, they receive a bottle of champagne and strawberries. The private cabin has a feather bed, down-filled duvet, king-size pillows and romantic music.

When the airplane reaches 5,280 feet, the pilot rocks the wings to let you know you're one mile up. The one-hour flight departs Santa Monica Airport and is available seven days a week. Prices start at US$279 per couple.

THE frequent flyer programme Passages has signed on three new partners. Delta Airlines and Diner's Club are now operating under the scheme, and on March 1, All Nippon Airways will join.

Passages now has a total of nine airlines, five hotels and three credit card companies.

Post
