A MAN who put his pregnant former girlfriend through a terrifying two-day ordeal during which she was raped was yesterday jailed for 12 years.
The woman, who was pregnant with the defendant's baby, was abducted, ordered to pay a $500,000 separation fee, sexually assaulted and forced to work as a prostitute, the High Court heard.
Deputy Judge Yeung told the 23-year-old accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons: 'I find it difficult to find appropriate words to describe the outrageous conduct you have displayed to the victim in this case.
'She had the misfortune of coming to know you when she was 17, working as an accounts clerk in the same company as you.
'At some stage she must have fallen for you to the extent that, shortly afterwards, she started cohabiting with you.
'But you have not treasured such affection.
'Instead you preyed on her foolishness and innocence by taking advantage of her both physically and financially.
