Dangerous porn comics

WE regularly see reports of rape cases in the courts pages of newspapers. Sadly, this offence is on the increase. The police do work hard to try and track down rapists and arrest them, but such crimes continue to be committed.

One way of trying to help reduce the incidence of this crime, is to look at the mental make-up of the rapist and to ask what influences they have been subject to.

The fact is that, at present, a young schoolboy can easily get hold of pornographic comics from street vendors. Such pornography can have a disturbing effect on such an immature mind. Without proper counselling and advice from parents and teachers, they may find it difficult to control their thoughts. The Government has to impose restrictions on the sale of such material. Most of these pornographic publications come from Japan. It should be forbidden for anyone to translate these comics from Japanese.

It is also important that the Education Department should make sex education a part of the formal curriculum. If young people learned to think about sex in a responsible way, I feel sure there would be less incidences of rape.
