AS part of its expansion into the China market, Hong Kong property consultant and surveyor Chesterton Petty has opened its first representative office in Beijing.
The office is located in Jing Guang Centre in Chaoyang district and a short distance from the China World Trade Centre.
Gordon Moffoot, Chesterton Petty's managing director, described the move as the next step in the company's long-term business strategy for China.
'We have been working in China for nearly 10 years,' he said. 'However, the increasing volume of work is now such that we need to establish a firm base in Beijing and other major cities throughout China.' Augustine Wong, director in charge of the company's China division, said: 'Given the number of projects on which we are being asked to advise, it is essential that we have proper representation in Beijing if we are to provide the depth of service expected by our clients.' Chesterton Petty has recently been appointed sole agent for Golden Land Building, a 600,000 sq ft commercial and residential development in Chaoyang.
The complex, opposite the Third Embassy District, is due for completion next year.
Chesterton Petty is already acting as agent for Han We Building in the same area.
