I AM studying in a secondary school in Tin Shui Wai and I have to take the Light Rail Transit (LRT) to and from my school every day. At present, there are six schools in Tin Shui Wai. Since most of the students live in Tuen Mun and Yuen Long, there is excess demand for the LRT. Every day after school, many students get on the Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) at Tin Shui Station, so when it arrives at the next station Locwood, it is already full. This means that I and my fellow students have to wait on the the overcrowded platform for a long time. During the rush hour, the frequency of the LRVs is uneven. They are always full during those busy periods and many passengers find it very difficult to get on. Also, ventilation in the LRVs is inefficient and this makes the compartment stuffy. There is an unpleasant odour in the LRVs. Over the last few years there have been no obvious improvements in the performance of the LRT. I am extremely dissatisfied with the poor service provided. I hope LRT management will change its attitude towards passengers so that we can enjoy a satisfactory standard of service. GRACE KWOK Tuen Mun
