Reinforcing bar manufacturer Putra Baja Deli has built its reputation on quality. Based in north Sumatra, the company was certified in February by the Australian Certification Authority for Reinforcing Steels. This is on top of certifications of Indonesian National Standard (SNI) from the Ministry of Industry and Malaysian Standard from SIRIM QAS International. With its ISO-certified manufacturing process, Putra Baja Deli has been supplying iconic projects in Medan and caters to the most discerning clients, including major Japanese contractors such as Obayashi and Kajima. "Our clients are proud to use our products," says managing director Octo Julius. "They put our Deli Steel brand in front of their projects to show people that they are using high quality steel." As a testament to the priority it gives to ensure quality, the company follows stringent standards that surpass the industry norm. Putra Baja Deli follows this practice in the operation of its ISO 17025 certified independent tensile test laboratory. While SNI requires quality checks for every 25 tonnes of production, the company conducts it for every 10 tonnes or lower. Putra Baja Deli has lined up several initiatives to further diversify its interest in the local and overseas markets. In its bid to become a major player in Indonesia, it is also inviting partners to build environmentally friendly steel manufacturing plants in other parts of the country. "Indonesia is a fast-growing market and we would like to grow together with foreign partners who value long term commitment like we do," Julius says. Putra Baja Deli http://www.putrabajadeli.com/
