A MAID who hurled her newborn baby to its death from a 15th-floor window collapsed sobbing in the dock yesterday as she was convicted of infanticide.
Tri Rahayu Nunuk, 21, who will now be deported to her native Indonesia, gave birth alone as her employer's family watched television in the next room.
She admitted throwing 'a bundle' out of the window, but claimed she did not realise she had just given birth.
A High Court jury convicted her of infanticide after one hour of deliberations.
Tri, who has been at Siu Lam psychiatric centre since the tragedy, wept silently in the dock.
Mr Justice Ryan ordered that she should be given a sentence which would allow her immediate release.
When the judge left the court the maid collapsed and she was still sobbing as she was led out of the building.
