I READ with dismay the report on the memorial service for Mike Sinclair (Sunday Morning Post, February 26) in which two serious inaccuracies appeared.
The first was a misquote which made nonsense of what I said. I am quoted by your reporter as saying that Sinclair 'had challenged our community to accept the thought that individuals were not all-powerful'. What I actually said was 'our community was called to comprehend the thought that as individuals we are not powerless'.
The second was a statement that elements of comedy had been removed from the service because of reservations by the Cathedral. This is simply not true, and a word with me would have made this clear. Everything requested by Mike Sinclair was included in the service, without exception.
