LOCAL First Division side Sing Tao have filed an appeal against the fine and deduction of points by the Hong Kong Football Association imposed because of the failure to register defender Darren Jackson in two matches.

Sing Tao management were left red-faced after the HKFA discovered the club had used the unregistered Jackson in their league matches against Eastern and Frankwell on December 28 and January 5 respectively.

The HKFA management committee then fined Sing Tao $10,000 and deducted the point the Tigers earned for their draw against Eastern. Sing Tao chairman Ng Chung filed the appeal at last night's HKFA appeal board meeting.

The appeal board advised Sing Tao to collect relevant documents and to attend the next meeting on March 17.
