TOKYO: A strong earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale struck deep under the seabed off northern Japan yesterday, the Meteorological Agency said. The agency said the earthquake was centred 390 kilometres beneath the seabed in the Okhotsk Sea north of Hokkaido. There were no reports of damage or injuries.
