RUSSIAN midfielder Alexei Piskounov's worst fears were realised yesterday when X-rays confirmed he had broken his lower leg during Happy Valley's 4-0 drubbing of Kitchee at Shamshuipo Sports Ground on Sunday night.
Piskounov had just come on as a second-half substitute before disaster struck when he came to grief after battling for possession with a Kitchee defender.
X-rays showed he had fractured both his fibula and tibia bones and Happy Valley officials say he will need at least two months' rest.
Piskounov is one of seven Russian expatriate players Happy Valley have imported as part of their foreign contingent this season.
He has been part of a team who have shown tremendous form lately.
The Senior Shield finalists gave their First Division title hopes a boost by notching their sixth straight league win against Kitchee on the weekend.
