PRICES in the residential property market appear to be settling, but it is too early to come to any firm views, says the Secretary for Planning, Environment and Lands, Tony Eason.
Speaking at a media briefing yesterday, Mr Eason said developers appeared ready to take up residential sites with good locations.
From the buyers' and sellers' point of view there continued to be a good property market.
He indicated that yesterday's land auction showed the department would be able to make sales of the remainder of the sites planned for auction.
He said: 'One auction or one sale does not make a trend. You have to look at the trends.
'The indications are that the market is settling still.' While prospects for the commercial sites were not the same, Mr Eason said it was important for the market to have its say and to make choices regarding sites.
