AN EXHIBITION featuring more than 120 masterpieces of Chinese painting by Yang Shanshen, a renowned master of the Lingnan School, is being held at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. It is entitled 'Lingnan Spirit - A Retrospective of Yang Shanshen'. Mr Yang is an influential figure in Hong Kong's art circles. His style belongs to the 'New Chinese Painting' genre of the Lingnan School. His paintings are mostly inspired by the subjects of daily life and he is known for his excellent sketching techniques. The exhibits feature various themes spanning the 1930s to the present. Among them are some large paintings of ink and colour on paper produced specially for the exhibition. The exhibition will run until April 17. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.
