A DOCTOR accused of indecently assaulting a patient four times in two days was cleared at Eastern Court yesterday.
Acquitting Dr Ian Denis Michael Dos Remedios, 35, of four counts of indecent assault, Magistrate Jonathan Acton-Bond said the 20-year-old alleged victim was a complicated person.
He said if what she had told the court was correct, it would have totally undermined the testimony of the doctor, who was a highly respected man.
Dr Dos Remedios, who works in orthopaedics, had pleaded not guilty to four counts of indecent assault at the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital on October 8 and 9.
The woman, who was admitted to the hospital suffering from back pain, said she had been indecently assaulted by the doctor three times in two days under the guise of medical examinations.
She alleged that, on a fourth occasion, the doctor asked her to go into an empty operating theatre where he asked her if she knew how to make her nipples strong and hot. She accused him of then touching and kissing her nipples.
