SALOMON Brothers has teamed up with Bakrie Securities in a joint venture to raise international capital in Jakarta for Indonesian public and private sector companies.
Salomon Brothers spokesman Trevor Rowe said the joint venture supplemented a separate joint co-operation agreement recently completed with Bakrie Securities under which Salomon Brothers provided 'professional assistance to Indonesian issuers looking to raise funds from foreign investors'.
Bakrie Securities is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jakarta-listed Bakrie Finance Corp, which is part of the diversified Bakrie group.
The group has interests in infrastructure support, plantations, telecommunications, banking, insurance, money brokerage and securities trading, mining, property development and the media.
