THE 'good Samaritan' who brought a badly beaten woman to hospital has been arrested for her murder.

  The 21-year-old man, who originally claimed to have stumbled across the woman's fatal assault in the Jockey Club Park in Yuen Long, surrendered to police yesterday morning.

  The man and his 18-year-old girlfriend had claimed the woman had been beaten unconscious by three thugs.

  But yesterday the man admitted she had owed him $3,000. His girlfriend was arrested for making a false statement to police.

  Police said the victim was dead on arrival at Pok Oi Hospital and a post-mortem examination revealed she died when broken ribs punctured her spleen.
