Dutchman Danne's ticket unwanted
A TALE of ships passing in the night unfolded yesterday in the streets outside the Stadium, writes Donal Scully.
And it had a very un-Hong Kong-like ending.
On the Caroline Hill Road approach a forlorn figure was spotted holding a sign saying 'Ticket wanted'.
But no one seemed to be responding to his offers.
A couple of hours later at exactly the same spot stood another figure this time trying to hawk a spare ticket.
Enquiries revealed the seller to be a Dutchman called Danne Dousi . 'I've already got a ticket for myself. This is a spare. I'm offering it at cost price.' Danne hadn't seen the would-be buyer.
How untypical a tale of Hong Kong. Buyers and sellers wandering about oblivious to each other. And the seller doesn't want to make a profit!
