HAVEN'T Filipinos like Lina Cabaero (South China Morning Post, March 15) learned by now that their government is mainly interested in remittances from their migrant workers, and only marginally in their welfare? It makes the obligatory noises whenever misfortune befalls its citizens abroad, but it does precious little to ensure real protection for all those who venture abroad for their survival. M. T.
