AN exuberant British rugby fan who streaked naked across the Hong Kong Stadium pitch in front of the 40,000-strong crowd at the Sevens tournament was bound over to keep the peace by Eastern Court yesterday.

Quentin Jordan, 32, told Magistrate Yung Yiu-wing he was ashamed of his behaviour.

He said he had been encouraged by others in the crowd to take off all his clothes and ran across the pitch.

Jordan, who pleaded guilty to indecent exposure at Happy Valley on Saturday, was bound over to keep the peace for 12 months in the sum of $2,000 and ordered to pay $1,500 costs.

Representing himself, Jordan, who works in Jakarta, said this was his first visit to Hong Kong.

He was carried away by the occasion but later regretted his action, the court heard.
