SEAPOWER kept alive their hopes for a second title of the season when they outlasted Winling 87-77 in the losers' pool final of the Fukien Cup double elimination tournament at the MacPherson Stadium last night.

  Shield champions Seapower were pushed all the way by underdogs Winling, who were inspired by American professionals Ronnie Winbush and Mack Joyner.

  The two teams traded shot for shot and were level at 72-72 going into the last five minutes. But a five-point run by Johnny Tyson gave Seapower a 79-75 buffer with two minutes to go and they went on to win by a 10-point margin.

  Seapower will meet undefeated Regal in the play-off final on Friday.
