BAPTIST University became the venue for an outlandish sedan chair parade when 11 teams representing departmental societies vied with each other to come up with the most original idea.
The annual inter-society competition marked the end of a two-week student festival.
Participants were allowed to design their chairs in advance, but were only allowed to build them on the night before the contest.
The Social Work Society won first prize for a remarkable sedan chair that looked like a rooftop dwelling.
'We wanted to spotlight this social problem on campus and raise students' awareness of the issue,' said social work student Matthew Chu Chun-man.
The team staged a street drama of the forcible eviction of the rooftop residents and the ensuing scuffle between police and the protesters. They scavenged materials to construct the chair.
