RADIO 3 presenter Harvey Crump said last night he was 'totally baffled' by the death of a woman found unconscious in his bed last weekend.

Crump spoke about the mystery death for the first time yesterday, denying reports he had been night-clubbing with the woman hours before she died.

Crump, 38, told the Sunday Morning Post he and Lisa Jane O'Riordan had had a few drinks together last weekend because she was in Lan Kwai Fong on a work assignment.

The pair visited two bars together, but their drinks were 'entirely non-alcoholic', he said.

'I was really tired, so I left her there and went home at around 1.30 am. I went to bed, and went to sleep, and she called me later on to ask if she could sleep over. At that point, I unlocked the door and she eventually came in later.' They spoke briefly when she walked in. O'Riordan made no mention of feeling ill, and they both went to sleep, he said.

'One of the last things she said to me was 'no one will understand our relationship'. We were very good friends and no discussion was necessary with regards to the sleeping arrangements,' Crump said.
