IT WAS a big day for 46 primary pupils of the Victoria Park School for the Deaf who received their prizes for an environmental postcard competition recently. The contest was jointly organised by the Green Committee of the Excelsior hotel and the school. The award presentation was held at the hotel where the pupils and their teachers were later treated to a buffet luncheon. Mr Edward Lam, Senior Environmental Protection Officer of the Environmental Protection Department, was the guest-of-honour. Primary Five student Chan Kee-wai won the top prize with his work titled 'Bring Your Own Bag'. The second prize went to Chow Man-yee, while the third was won by Yong Nga-ming. The winning piece will be reproduced as a special postcard to be put on sale at the Excelsior's Lobby Shop. All proceeds from the postcard will be donated to the Friends of the Earth.
