The Youth Funding Scheme on AIDS aims to encourage and mobilise young people to spread the AIDS message among themselves and in the community through innovative projects. The fund is presented by the Committee on Education and Publicity on AIDS (CEPAIDS).

Youth groups comprising not fewer than five members each are invited to submit project plans designed to promote AIDS awareness among young people.

'By organising and implementing an AIDS project, young people will learn a great deal about AIDS and its impact on the community,' a CEPAIDS spokesman said.

Young people interested in the funding scheme can obtain application forms and the related prospectus from their secondary schools or youth organisations, or contact the AIDS Unit of the Department of Health on 2780-8622.

There will be two deadlines for submitting applications - April 30 and September 30. Selected project plans should be implemented this year. The maximum funding for each project is $6,000.
