ABERDEEN Technical School recently celebrated its 60th anniversary with an open day. Other activities included a Thanksgiving mass, a walkathon, a Diamond Jubilee night, a banquet and the production of a souvenir magazine. The school was founded in 1935 with the aim of providing less privileged and less academically-inclined young boys a general education coupled with training in a trade. Over the past six decades, the school has not only maintained its unique characteristics, but also produced outstanding technical professionals. The opening ceremony of the open day was held in the school's football pitch. It was attended by Education Director Lam Woo-kwong and a number of prominent guests and school representatives. The guests were later shown around the school to get an insight into the various activities and to catch a glimpse of student projects.
