FORMER Hong Kong champion jockey Gary Moore yesterday pulled off the biggest win of his successful comeback to the saddle when Storming Force (8-5 favourite) cruised home in the $440,000 Macau Gold Cup. Trainer George Moore was fully vindicated in quickly backing up the impressive stayer after his feature race win in the Macau Gold and Country Club Cup a week previously. Storming Force hacked up by five lengths in the 2,000-metre Listed race. This emphatic win gave further credence to the belief in some quarters that Storming Force, who had an interrupted preparation, was unlucky not to win the $1.4 million Macau Derby. But yesterday's first prize of $246,400 went some way to compensating connections for the disappointment.
