HONG KONG are poised to grab the lion's share of gold medals at the Commonwealth Championships in Singapore after clinching the men's and women's table tennis titles on Monday, writes Norideen Kitchell. The territory's paddlers are top seeds in four of the five individual events starting today and coach David Cheng Chung-yin is hoping to make history with a clean sweep of all seven gold medals on offer. Chai Po-wa is top seed for the women's singles event in which she is the three-time defending champion. She is also seeded to win the doubles with Chan Tan-lui and mixed doubles with Lo Chuen-tsung. Lo and Chan Kong-wah are also top seeds for the men's doubles. The only event in which Hong Kong is not rated to win is the men's singles. That honour goes to England's Carl Prean with Lo seeded second.
