Taxi reprieve

LANTAU taxi passengers have been spared hefty fare increases after the Transport Advisory Committee yesterday rejected a proposed 33 per cent rise. Instead, the flag-fall for the first two kilometres will rise from $9 to $10, while each subsequent 200 metres will cost 10 cents more at $1, from July.
