Retailers booking space for World Trade Centre

SEVEN major retail tenants have been signed up by Sun Hung Kai Properties for its revamped World Trade Centre shopping arcade in Causeway Bay.

The developer said the building was now more than 65 per cent committed at average rentals of $150 per square foot. The remaining area is expected to be taken up soon.

The seven tenants to sign up are Inchcape Pacific, Yaohan International Caterers, Arome Bakery, Dairy Farm, Simply the Best, G2000 Group and Pokka Corp.

Inchcape Pacific will open a store for Australian clothing and accessories chain Country Road and Timberland of the United States, Yaohan will open the Shanghai Green Willow Village Restaurant and Pokka Corp will operate the Tonkichi Restaurant.

They will be among the first batch of tenants to set up retail outlets in the World Trade Centre when it reopens after its $300 million refurbishment.

The new six-level complex will provide a total floor area of 190,000 sq ft. The shops, ranging from 200 to 13,000 sq ft, will have rentals from $60 to $400 per sq ft depending on size and location.
