LIBERAL Party Legislative Councillor Ronald Arculli will open the postgraduate fair at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre at 10am today. Mr Arculli is also chairman of the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Trust, one of the major sources of student grants. Tonight, he will attend a dinner that will bring together leading businessmen in the territory, vice-chancellors of the seven universities and the Secretary for Education and Manpower Michael Leung Man-kin. Open daily from 10 am to 8 pm until Saturday, entrance to the fair is free for degree holders, undergraduates and professional advisers. While 48 booths from institutions and universities will be major drawcards, seminars beginning this afternoon are also likely to be well attended. Prospective students could visit booths during the morning and attend seminars on a range of topics after lunch, said Tony Martin, head of Nexus Media's education division. Nexus is organising the fair. Forty-minute seminars in the convention centre's room 404 will be held on the hour and will focus on Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses. In room 405, talks will start on the half hour and will address topics including career benefits of postgraduate study abroad. Highlights of today's seminar programme 2:30pm: British MBA courses taught in Hong Kong by Aberty Dundee University. Room 405.5:30pm: Postgraduate application procedures by Lancaster University. Room 405.6pm: Third-generation MBA courses by Henley Management College. Room 404. Tomorrow 12:30pm: Postgraduate studies at Chinese University of Hong Kong. Room 405.3pm: An MBA with a difference by Nanyang Technological University. Room 404.6pm: Strategies for success and career benefits of obtaining an MBA by Bradford Management Centre. Room 404. Saturday 12:30pm: Postgraduate education in Russia by Russian Federal State Committee for Higher Education. Room 405.2:30pm: Australian postgraduate courses by International Development Programmes. Room 405.3pm: MBA and other taught postgraduate degrees by City University. Room 404.3:30pm: Study in British postgraduate courses by the British Council. Room 405.4:30pm: Taught postgraduate degrees in Ireland by International Education Board in Ireland.
