HAPPY Valley will be looking to Scottish midfielder Ian McCall to help change their fortunes when they face Rangers in the Senior Shield final at the Hong Kong Stadium tomorrow.
McCall, who has just completed a two-month stint with Scottish First Division club Hamilton, arrived in the territory yesterday and trained at the Hong Kong Sports Institute with his new teammates hours later.
Looking at his new task philosophically, McCall said: 'Football is a universal language and I don't see any problem fitting in at Happy Valley.' The 30-year-old Scot started his career at amateur Queen's Park in 1983. He moved to the professional ranks with Dunfermline Athletic after three seasons then joined Glasgow Rangers in a GBP250,000 transfer in 1987.
He won a Premier Division winner's medal and a League Cup winner's medal during a three-season stay at Ibrox before going to Bradford City.
The talented midfielder returned to Dunfermline in 1990 and stayed for one year before joining Dundee, helping them win the 1991-92 First Division.
McCall moved to Falkirk last season, helping them capture the First Division title and the B & Q Cup.
