FRIDAY, MAY 5 CHEUNG Kong (Holdings) reportedly is planning to launch new units in Kingswood Villas for sale early next week.
- TIN TIN DAILY NEWS A CHINA Resources director says the group intends to sell 60 per cent of its space in the China Resources Centre in Cheung Sha Wan this year, aiming to generate $150 million in profit. He predicts that more than half the group's profit this year will come from its property business.
- ECONOMIC JOURNAL ACCORDING to China Resources, residential units from the first-phase development of a Tsing Yi project will be launched for sale in early 1997. The project is a joint development with Cheung Kong and Sun Hung Kai Properties, at Nga Ying Chau, Tsing Yi.
- SING TAO CHINA Resources Enterprise intends to team up with other developers to bid for development rights above the Tsing Yi Station of the Airport Railway. The Tsing Yi Station will adjoin another China Resources property development at Nga Ying Chau.
- ECONOMIC JOURNAL CHINA Treasure's chairman, Mak Siu-tong, attributed the company's return to profit in the 1994 financial year to the strong reception of new products in overseas markets and increased production following the coming on stream of its new Dongguan plant. Mr Mak noted that given a recovery in China Treasure's operations, the company is looking to strengthen its China business this financial year.
- ECONOMIC JOURNAL FIRST Pacific's managing director, Manuel Velez Pangilinan, says the group will not apply for a credit rating until next year. He said NTT, a Japanese telecom giant, would finalise its plan next Friday to inject capital into Smart Communication, a Philippine subsidiary of First Pacific.
- ECONOMIC JOURNAL A SOURCE close to Henderson Land said the company's idea to redevelop Kowloon Bay's Big Star Centre into a hotel originated overseas where hotels have been built in or near industrial districts. The source said he believes the hotel will attract trade and industry travellers.
