LEGISLATORS yesterday claimed equal employment laws would be ineffective if discriminatory job adverts were not made an offence under the Sex Discrimination Bill.

Under the bill, the Equal Opportunities Commission will be able to apply for an injunction to stop discriminatory job adverts. It will draw up a code of practice for employers, but that is not expected for another year.
