ITALIAN Serie A leaders Juventus have guaranteed some of the biggest names in Italian football, including World Cup superstar Roberto Baggio, who will lead a star-studded lineup for the Satchi Italy Cup clash against Frankwell at the Hong Kong Stadium on June 14.
A 16-strong squad, which will also include Italian international Antonio Conte, Gianluca Vialli, Alessandro Del Piero and Fabrizio Ravanelli in addition to German World Cup defender Jurgen Kohler, Portuguese international Paulo Sousa and French international Didier Deschamps, have also been pencilled in to play an exhibition match in Guangzhou against the Guangzhou Football Club on June 16.
The Juventus exhibition match in the territory will come just four days after another top Italian club, Sampdoria, parade their all-star cast, including Dutchman Ruud Gullit, for the other Satchi Italy Cup clash against Viceroy Cup champions Sing Tao.
Romy Gai, external relations director of Juventus, said Juve were committed to playing two matches in the region and that the club, one of Europe's greatest as 22-time Italian Serie A champions and one-time European Cup and World Club champions (both in 1985), will be bringing a full squad.
'We are looking forward to playing in Hong Kong. We have a lot of fans in this part of the world, especially for Baggio, Vialli, Del Piero and Ravanelli,' said Gai.
'Hopefully, when we come to Hong Kong, we will be the champions of the UEFA Cup and Italian Cup and Serie A champions.' The Turin side are the most successful team in Italy this season, having reached the final of the two Cup events and are in a very strong position in the Serie A title race.
