I WAS a subscriber of Hutchison Telephone's cellular network. I called the company's customer service hotline on a Saturday in late March to inform the company that I would like to discontinue the service.
I was told that I would have to send in my instruction in writing and was given a fax number.
I did this that same morning, and I received a call back from Hutchison confirming that it had received my instruction and also informing me that my deposit would be returned to me by post a few weeks later.
I subsequently received a bill from the company which I thought was for the outstanding balance and did not give it a second thought So it was a surprise when I received another bill for advance payment of the April/May billing cycle. I called Hutchison for clarification the next day.
The representative who served me was most helpful.
Unfortunately, she could not locate the instruction I faxed to the company and the computer showed that no such instruction had been received and executed.
