Lu's 'bridge'

HEAD of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office Lu Ping assured American investors their businesses would be protected by law after 1997. He told a business delegation from the United States, that Washington did not understand China's policy towards Hong Kong. The territory could serve as a 'bridge' for US firms to the mainland.
