THE volume of several second and third liners leaped substantially although trading as a whole was sluggish yesterday.
Chesterfield was the busiest stock, closing at 10.6 cents, down 0.8 cents, or seven per cent.
Turnover was $5.7 million as 50.1 million shares changed hands, compared with Friday's 36.2 million.
The stock's average volume for the past three months until Friday was 2.9 million shares.

The volume of consumer audio products manufacturer Ngai Lik Holdings also increased drastically yesterday. The counter added 12.5 cents, or 4.6 per cent, to close at $2.825.
