SHOOTING the popular TVB kung fu drama series Fist of Power was a dream come true for Terry Fan Siu-wong, who played Wong Kei-ying, father of the legendary Chinese hero, Wong Fei-hung.

The series was a success, receiving an encouraging response not only from Hong Kong but also Southeast Asian audiences.

'The drama fulfilled my long-time dream. Although I've made a lot of movies, this television series gave me the strongest sense of achievement and satisfaction,' the 22-year-old actor said.

He was also involved in the production work, like editing and choosing the shots to be screened along with the theme song. 'The project was the hardest I've ever done. I worked day and night, and for a time, I didn't go home for 10 days in a row.' Fan has wanted to be an actor since he was a child. 'I love acting; it's in my genes.' Those who have seen Fist of Power must have noticed that Fan is a man of strong physique - a result of years of martial arts training.

'I don't go to the gym. Kung fu is a much better way of body-building. Instead of lifting weights, you lift the weight of your own body. You end up with a more naturally-built body and you can move more swiftly than those 'hunks',' the 1.77-metre action star said.
