A CORE member of the human rights group United Ants, Law Yuk-kai, will join the election battlefield in Tai Po against Liberal Party chairman Allen Lee Peng-fei and Tai Po District Board chairman Cheung Hok-ming. Mr Law used to enjoy good ties with members of the Democratic Party. He was an aide to core member Lee Chik-yuet and James To Kun-sun. The group was active in organising a campaign against former Meeting Point - and now Democratic Party - members Fred Li Wah-ming and Zachary Wong Wai-yin in last September's district board election in retaliation for their vote against the bill for a fully-elected legislature. A member of the group said they had decided Mr Law should join the poll because they found most of the legislators failed to address their concerns. Apart from focusing on human rights issues, the group is in favour of a free economy and opposes cartels. The member said the group had no plans to become a political party.
