GREENHOUSE production is making available vegetable throughout the year in Guyuan, in the mountains of northwest Ningxia Hui autonomous region.

So far, about 10,000 greenhouses have been built with a annual capacity worth 2.4 million yuan.

In Bashang prefecture, a comprehensive agricultural development project has been completed.

It has involved investment of a total of 110 million yuan to transform 32,500 hectares of low-yielding farming land, create 72,000 hectares of afforestation area and 60,000 hectares of pastures.

The efforts improved ecological environment in the area and raised grain yield per hectare by 2,115 kilograms, says Xinhua (the New China News Agency).
