HEUNG Yee Kuk vice-chairman Liu Ching-leung lost his post in the rural body's internal elections yesterday.

He was defeated 73 votes to 50 by Lam Kwok-yin, chairman of the Sha Tin Rural Committee, in the kuk's Tai Po poll.

Mr Lam will also replace Mr Liu as kuk representative on the Regional Council.

Regco chairman Daniel Lam Wai-keung won the kuk's other vice-chairmanship in New Territories South, while kuk chairman Lau Wong-fat was returned unopposed in New Territories West.
