Participants in the one-day trip will visit an electronics product manufacturing plant and a light industrial goods factory.

They will see how environmental factors are incorporated into production processes and hear from representatives of the joint-venture companies.

Craig Branting, general manager of the Centre of Environmental Technology, said: 'These are exemplary factories that have incorporated a certain degree of environmental control into their processes.' The optional June 23 factory tour is one of the new features of the fourth annual Business and Industry Environment Conference.

Leading members of the business, industry and government sectors are expected to gather for the conference to discuss how to control pollution in Hong Kong.
