Eastern's third title looks a formality

HONG KONG champions Eastern are expected to win their third First Division League title in a row tonight at Mongkok Stadium.

Sing Tao are the only side who can deny Eastern the glory and, for that to happen, the Tigers would have to win by more than seven goals.

Eastern manager Peter Leung Shou-chi said they were not worried about tonight's match.

'Do you think we'll be beaten by six goals?,' asked the confident Leung. 'We don't mind if we can't beat Sing Tao tonight. The most important thing is our league title is assured.' The league champions elect will have national defender Chan Chi-keung back after suspension.

'We don't care who our opponents are or how important the game is to them,' warned chairman Ng Chung.

Meanwhile, Happy Valley's midfielder Alan Reis is expected to sign with Rangers at the end of this month.

Eastern defender/midfielder Lo Kai-wah and Instant-Dict defender Yeung Kin-keung are also talking to Rangers.TEAMS Eastern: Iain Hesford: Keung Heung-fai, Chan Chi-keung, Tim O'Shea, Ricky Cheng; Lee Kin-wo, Chiu Chun-ming, Lo Kai-wah, Ross Greer; Dale Tempest, Paul Nixon.
