SCMP Reporter

A MEMORIAL service was held recently at Portola Valley, California, for Larry Hillblom, one of the founders of DHL Worldwide Express, who is missing and presumed dead after a plane crash last month near the Mariana Islands, in the western Pacific.

  Mr Hillblom, who was the 'H' in DHL, was 52.

  The service was attended by, among others, Po Chung, chairman and founder of DHL International in Hong Kong.

  Mr Hillblom started the first international air express company in 1969 with Adrian Dalsey and Robert Lynn.
