STAND by for a massive betting splurge on the final Triple Trio of the season with another whopping dividend virtually guaranteed by the Jockey Club which has ruled out a carry over until the first meeting of next season.
OCB centres will again stay open for an extra hour to cater for demand for the incredibly popular bet - it also allows an extra hour for betting on the Epsom Derby which is being telecast live to Happy Valley tonight - and Wednesday's record pool of $120 million is certain to be eclipsed.
Tomorrow, the Triple Trio will operate on races four, five and seven.
The first leg is a conditions race for local riders down the straight 1,000-metre course and, quite literally, anything could happen.
Unfashionable local rider K. H. 'Little' Hung has his final career ride on last-start winner Profit Taker for trainer Alex Wong Siu-tan and it would be foolhardy to leave him out of calculations.
Likely favourite will be Ivan Allan's reclassified griffin Winning Spirit who has trotted up and down the straight course and looks capable of winning in open company.
Allan also has Captive Trick involved who has also performed very well down the straight course in the past.
