Shorts, robes and T-shirts crest the wave of fashion

SLEEPWEAR and underwear may not sound all that exciting as a gift for dad, but Marguerite Lee's latest Grigio Perla collection can prove otherwise.

'This season the emphasis throughout the collection is on linear, essential styling,' said Karen Shum, the public relations manager. 'Our sleepwear is cool to wear and comes in primary colours such as white, navy blue and red.' Cotton, in a variety of textures such as poplin, pique and jersey, dominate the Grigio Perla nightwear collection.

The focus is on simple, loose-fitting garments for maximum ease and comfort.

Patterns and prints take up a variety of themes. Among the most striking night robes is a black, cotton one featuring white geometric shapes.

'The robes are perfect for teaming with boxer shorts and can be worn as a cover-up on the beach, or as nightwear,' Ms Shum said.

Cotton robes cost between $1,800 and $2,200. Long silk robes range from $2,000 to $3,000.

Pyjamas are equally stylish, with masculine simplicity that is timeless.

They cost between $1,500 and $2,000 and come in subdued shades of blue, grey and strawberry.

Boxer shorts, briefs and classic T-shirts from Grigio Perla's underwear collection are made from soft fabrics.

Select from shades of blue, green, red or white.

Prices vary from $200 to $300 for briefs, up to $700 for boxers.

T-shirts range from $650 to $1,500.

'We have some exciting aboriginal designs in our T-shirt collection set against natural tones like pine green, as well as batik T-shirts in softer shades such as lavender,' Ms Shum said.
