Gigs for phat cats

HMV Group
Tom Hilditch

MELLOW vibed-up funkaholics brace yourself: a trio of acid jazz concerts have been set for June 14, 15 and 16 at the Peak Terrace on The Peak.

The 'phat' (LA slang for cool) shows featuring London's Izit, Philadelphia's The Roots, Australia's Dig and sax supremo Steve Williamson promise to be the best Hong Kong has seen yet. Doubters can check out their CDs at HMV. Tickets ($350), are available from HMV, Post 97 and The Viceroy.

And good news for those bored of walking down from The Peak after Terrace gigs: organiser Mickey Smith has arranged to keep the Peak Tram running every 15 minutes until 3 am.

Those important words again: mellow, vibed, funakholic and phat.
