'RETURN of the Birds', part of the 10th anniversary programmes of the Pottery Workshop at the Fringe features a series of clay bird houses, made by Jacqueline Li, the workshop's resident clay artist. The bird houses are semi-sculptural containers highlighting the artist's unique skills in clay work. 'When I make these houses for the birds, I feel as if I am building a house for myself,' said Ms Li. An organic balance between different forces is the theme of the works by Ms Li, one of the first students of the 10-year-old pottery workshop. Her initial training under the workshop founder, Mak Yee-fun, laid a strong foundation for her commitment as a full-time clay artist. Since returning from her studies in Toronto, Jacqueline has been teaching and working at the pottery workshop. 'Return of the Birds' will run until June 16 at the Pottery Workshop Showroom, 2 Lower Albert Road, Central. For more information call 2525-7949.
